I have an engineering background but I am kinda new for Automotive Multimedia systems. I need a help with setting up a MIB2 on desk and just reading the central unit status and communication. I got the following H/W:

MIB2 Harman (4G1 035 025 D)
Display (4G1919601R)
Display-MIB2 Cable (8V1971551C),

- What are H/W parts I am still missing?
- Do I need the MMI Touch Pad?
- What is the wiring should be done?
- What software can I use to monitor the communication of the MIB2 unit? How I connect the setup to a PC?
- Is there any thread in English I can read through?

Which communication? With what?

Can I over listen to the CAN commands between the display and the central unit through CAN to UART converter and check it out by PUTTY?

Or do I have to wire one of the two sets of (9+3) pins in the main board as in the attached image?

Many Thanks for your replay. I need to read and log the CAN bus to check the messages between the central unit and the display. How Should be the wiring done as well.

Done. Took 2 weeks to learn it from scratch.

Now: How to telnet into it?

I am going to buy 4G0035736 usb socket and DLink DUB-E100, However I am not sure about getting access.

Just in order not to mislead anyone, the combination of the listed parts in the original post did not work.

There is noway and no help on this forum. I asked for telnet access for a long time but nobody reply. Or they can show the way to login if you give some dollars. Pathetic !! There is no help here.

Yeah, The thing is I am willing to pay. However, how do I know it is not a scum.

I don't care much about the current firmware on the unit - Which is already navigation plus. If there is a firmware for the Audi A6 MIB2 with know telnet password that will be enough.

You can get the password hash from the image file.... You then need to crack it!
