We can only boot 1c0000 or 100000?

Hi guys and thanks for this very useful thread. I'm new here and I'm very sorry but I have to write in english cause for me the russian is too much difficult.
Reading this thread from the first post, it wasn't so easy using translators that change the sinthax of QNX commands, but finally i was able to find the solutions.
Now i have just recovered the first one of my two 9498 bricked units
On the second one I did an error erasing the partition dev/fs0p3. I tried with the "flashit -a 40000 -e 1000" without success. The emergency update starts but cannot write the lost partition. I think the partition must be created and mounted but how?

You have to rewrite the efs-persist image in emg-app mode like following this steps:

1. Prepare a SD card with an binary image file from an ifs-persist partition (name: efs-persist.bin)
2. Put SD card in slot #1 (sdcard10t11)
3. start unit in IPL mode
4. enter command "boot 1c0000" to boot emg-app
5. enter command "echo dummy > /HBpersistence/DeveloperMode" to extend the timeout for watchdog reboot
6. enter "flashit -a 6200000 -d -f /mnt/sdcard10t11/efs-persist.bin" to flash the partition image
7. reboot the unit after the verification message
8. the unit now will recover the details for the persistence partition

The "boot 1c0000" command starts the emg-app from IPL mode. Only in IPL mode the "boot" command works!
You have to make sure, to recognize to be in IPL! Only when the prompt lookes like this mark "=>" you are in IPL mode. (Initial Program Loader)
otherwise, you´are not reaching the IPL correctly and the "boot" command doesn´t work.

Without the HBpersistence developer mode I cannot give the flashit anyway i'tried but it gave me

Yes, the reason is quite simple: the HBpersistence is the mounted name for the efs-persist partition. (sorry, I forget)
Means, you have to enter the flashit command string ASAP, or better you try to boot the main app with "boot 680000" and then type the flashit command string I tell you, ASAP.

But normally, if you type in the command as fast as possible, the time will fit to process the flashit work...

By the way, the SD Card with the efs-persist.bin must in the Slot if you start the emg-app.
Otherwise there is no detection given.

Thats what the response to the flashit command tells:
"flashit: can't open /mnt/sdcard10t11/efs-persist.bin: No such file or directory"

Or the mounted name of the SD Card is different. Try to figure out the name, by enter the "mount" or "df" command!
Keep of the complete path of the file located on the card. For this command it must be in root of the SD card.

But when you talk about the SD Card do you mean With a firmware complete ? In my case the unit was at 612 version.

it's strange because if i search on the SD with the firmware the file efs-persist.bin I cannot find it
where should it be exactly?

The image file "efs-persist.bin" is not available via the Firmware Update files.
You have to extract it, from another, fully functional main unit with the following command:

"cat /dev/fs0p3 > /fs/sd0/backup/flashdump/fs0p3_efs-persist.bin" for the 1st SD Slot of the Unit.

Now you have the flashdump image of the efs-persist partition (fs0p3), to flash it on the broken unit as descriped above...

How to extract it is the problem because the only fully functional main unit I have is mounted on my personal car.

BTW is there any script via SD card that I can use to extract efs-persist.bin w/o unmount my unit?

The firmware version of the unit is important or irrelevant?

Looking in my lab, I've found my old 9307 3G unit (not 3GP) which should be fully functional, can I do the extraction from there or should it be mandatory a 9498 unit?

It makes sens, to strip an actual Version of the image from an identical maschine type 9498. It is no problem to do it by a SD script. It takes only around minutes to backup the efs-persist partition from the flash. The command ist given above. Add the SD mounting routine as known in any other script.

BTW the unit has all the red lights switched on and a fan at high RPM but it is working.

OK, great! Thats fine!
The efs-persist partition had a couple of backup and secure functions. Maybe it needs a couple of time and restards to fullfill all register with the correct data.
Try to use it a couple of hours, than do a firmware update completely to a higher or same version. This flushes the registers and buffers and gives a new setup base.
