Hello !
I am very interested in this topic, tell me where you can study this topic.
What a good offer
i can do mib 2 to 2.5 in 30 min )
Convert MIB2 High (Harman) to MIB2.5
for 9.2” Display
Do at your own risk! You can brick the unit!
Note: it is possible that something is missing in this manual or different
for other firmware versions!
Setup unit on bench - Connect to RCC via UART
• Make Full (Advanced) Backup with M.I.B. to SD Card | http://mib.mibsolution.one
• Save Backup of SD Card on PC
• Format SD Card with FAT32 and Load MIB2.5 (G13) Firmware, Insert into SD1 on Unit
• Using E2PTool Program and D-Link (or UART Terminal) change part number and SW train to
fit MIB2.5 for brand and region (example for VW, 5NA035047 & MHI2_ER_VWG13_Pxxxx)
• Reboot Unit (hold power button for 30 seconds)
• Enter SWDL via Service Mode , Select Manual Download
Select MIB2.5 Firmware Update and Select ALL (all parts should say YES)
• Start Update
• Let Update Flash, at some point unit will enter RCC Emergency (some units update will fail at
MMX_App, at this point unit will restart. As soon as unit powers back on short UART RCC Tx
to GND, in UART terminal press key within 5 seconds to enter Command Line. Type “boot -t
emerg” and press enter to enter RCC Emergency)
NOTE: You MUST switch to 9.2” screen for Display to show at this point!
• As soon as BLUE RCC Emergency Screen is displayed with countdown timer, enter root as
login and MIB2.5 Firmware RCC Password then “slay -9 MIBEmergency” into UART Terminal
to stop countdown.
NOTE: This can be tricky and must be done before Countdown timer finishes, if you need to try again reboot unit
and enter RCC Emergency once again
• With Countdown Timer Stopped Enter Following Commands in order via UART Terminal:
mount -uw /net/mmx/fs/sda0/
on -f mmx sh
fdisk /dev/mnand0
(fdisk will start, unit Q key on keyboard to exit)
umount -f /dev/mnand0
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 delete -a
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s1 -t177 -c0,685

fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e3 -t178 -n2048
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e4 -t178 -n128
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e5 -t178 -n512
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e6 -t178 -n512
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e7 -t178 -n1024
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e8 -t178 -n576
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e9 -t178 -n15808
fdisk /net/mmx/dev/mnand0 add -s2 -e10 -t178 -n5120

cd HBpersistence/SWDL

/net/mmx/fs/sda0/RCC/tools/0/default/updatePersistence -type b -key 1 -value 0
• Reboot Unit (hold power button 30 seconds), Unit will reboot into MIB2.5 Firmware
• Enter SWDL Once Again, Manual Download, Select All, and Reflash MIB2.5 Firmware Update
Once Again, this will make a clean and complete Firmware Install.
• DONE
I would never flash MMX manually for G13 conversion.
*) Edit Train to K3xxx and flash K3xxx(for better compatibility)
*) Enable dev mode
*) Flash G13 ifs-root and edit train to G13 - reboot
*) enable user-swdl and check all modules and start flash
*) after rcc_prescript eject sd card and format NAND for G13
*) insert SD and continue
Or better make script in to update files.
