    Hello,

    Does anybody know how to fix the no-sound bug for a Discover Pro (mib1) .
    The unit is a 5G0035043D and has fw MHIG_EU_VW_K1550.

    When you go to software update and select the sd card for a search of new firmware, while searching press back(cancel) the sound is back until the next reboot.

    Hi Theed,

    I know exactly this problem. It was the same at the Audi versions 8V0xxxx MIB1 have.

    A well known issue has something todo with a defectiv cooling fan, which is the failure variant happened a view minutes after usage.

    But I even know the failure, at a cold unit. Nothing todo with overheating the audi amp... It would be great to find a solution for me too.

    I checked the amplifiers for loose solderings and measured the audio signal before the amplifiers.
    There is no signal before the amplifiers so the problem must be somewhere else.
    Also checked the sound settings with vagcanpro, and nothing changed.

    I finalized my investigations on it:

    1. There is a small group of very early MIB1 Units, which have a software bug which generateds a wrong mute-signal. A SW update fixes it.

    2. Most of the defective units have hardware problems with weak solderings and/or defective power amp ICs.

    The defective ICs are very bad to buy on the global market. It takes lot of time to find.

    In all cases, I can offer a repair for defective units.
