I checked the amplifiers for loose solderings and measured the audio signal before the amplifiers.
There is no signal before the amplifiers so the problem must be somewhere else.
Also checked the sound settings with vagcanpro, and nothing changed.

Does anybody know how to fix the no-sound bug for a Discover Pro (mib1) .
The unit is a 5G0035043D and has fw MHIG_EU_VW_K1550.

When you go to software update and select the sd card for a search of new firmware, while searching press back(cancel) the sound is back until the next reboot.

I flashed the bios when running in command mode in the emergency mode, the bios is the most high adress range.

You can not write the efs to the unit by the ipl, there is not enough time the unit will power off.
Only method is by jtag, i did it and the unit is fully working.

With JTAG, it is possible to flash the IPL, i did it with success

Maybe the board is different. On a US version. Does anyone have hires pictures of a eu board. So i can compare it with a us version.

With vag can pro you can set the umts values for the eu. There is a zdc file for the telephony gain settings. After that the unit will connect to umts 3g

I used a UC864-AWS, works also they are a littlebit easier to buy

An update on the jtag flashing, notice it is done by boundary scan.
This means all the pins on the sh7785 are driven the topjtag software.
Boundaryscan is usally used for debugging boards, and most new cpu offer this option.
So what is basically done is the both flashchips are controlled by the cpu ...

You need a vac can pro cable, if you do not want to solder in the unit.
With that you can set the language to the european ones.
This worked for me.

Crash, be sure to order the UC864-e-auto, because the antenna connector is different.

I swapped the telit AWS version in my 3GP for a European one (UC864-E) and it operates on UMTS 3G now, speed is much better.
Problem is solved.

Finally writing to the flash with JTAG is possible.
Topjtagflash does not have the possbility to attach two lines from the flash to one line on the processor.
writing and erasing must be done in two phases, first for #WE -W12 and then for the second #WE-Y17.
This has to be switched in the pin ...

today i had success with writing a flash to the unit.
Using topjtag and done in two phases, write one chip at a time (switching to different WE lines).
All thanks to crash-100, for the WE lines and that a24 is connected to W11/cs0_n.

is it possible to swap the internal UC864 unit in the metal case.
I have a NAR version and wantto have the EU version.

It is the telit uc864-e (vendor=0x1bc7,device=0x1003), probably on a mother board and sealed in a metal case.
The module UC864-e is USB based, so maybey it is possible to use the other usb for data only.
For voice calling there have to be more lines connected.
